Visitar el templo constituye una hermosa alternativa durante sus estadías en Santiago, ya que el mismo constituye un gran atractivo del lugar, que anualmente convoca a miles de fieles y peregrinos, ubicándose el mismo a solo 10 kilómetros de Santiago.
En diciembre de 2008, el Templo Votivo de Maipú recibió —junto a otros 17 edificios— el Premio Obra Bicentenario, el cual valora el aporte de éstos al desarrollo urbano en Chile durante la primera mitad del siglo XX.
